PICkit Serial Analyzer install failI just got the PICkit Serial Analyzed to use with the MTCH112 demo board. On my Win 7 desktop machine I put in the CDROM and autoexec runs, Windows asks if I want to run an unidentified program (yes), the drive spins for about a minute and nothing else happens. No windows or icons appear on the screen. When I plug the analyzer into the USB port its power LED lights but it supplies no power to the attached PICkit 28-pin Demo Board. On my Win 8.1 laptop I have no CDROM drive so I downloaded the MTCH112 GUI zip file, unpacked and ran MTCH112 GUI.exe. That brings up a splash page with the message 'Establishing initial USB communication with PICkit serial analyzer' which last at least 10 minutes, maybe forever.
Is my brand new Analyzer DOA? Is the problem elsewhere? What should I try next?
